I was hired on and currently work for an internet company as a web producer (updating our site through CMS and updating many small micro-sites). I’ve also owned my own small web business for the last 4 years and have been continually growing it on the side. I’ve been doing A-Z on those projects which include sales, design, development, QA, marketing, SEO and delivery.

Though I was originally brought in as a web producer in this company, I have done much more then was expected of me and that I was compensated for. Our company has been going through dramatically down sizing over the past 3 months and we’re now starting to build it back up as the demand for the services are getting higher.

Some of the work that I have done since joining include tons of designing (bottom to top) and developing, massive search engine optimization for 5 micro-sites and consulting for many other and as always general updating of the CMS site.

I recently spoke with the VP of marketing and told him that I wanted to change my role to an SEO Specialist. He turned around and said that he thinks I can be more than that. He wants me to take ownership over a couple of the projects that we have (million dollars ones). I have downloaded server files for a game mostly popular in Europe. The game is developde by YMIR and published in USA/CANADA by Z8Games, another server in USA is published by European developer GameForge..who is publishing all the servers in Europe. TEC-Interactive is a rather new server with a low player count publishing the game in Singapore. The SEO of TEC-Interactive (Christopher Chia) is jealous that my private server is better than his official server. He scared my last FreeBSD dedicated hosting service (www.worldstream.nl) into demanding that I remove the files from their server.

He also contacted www.JustHost.com claiming that I have infringed copyright on my website (which I have not). The website is: www.alpinemt2.com

Now I have moved to a new whitelabel hosting in Netherlands, www.weservit.nl

They told me that no matter what he does they will not listen to what he says because they do not follow DMCA or copyright laws. Now that guy Christopher Chia is trying again, saying I hav 48 hours to turn it off or he will come do more damage..

He also claims to have hired a lawyer (which is stupid since he would spend more on international lawsuits and etc.. than he could possibly make from 1 guy in Macedonia who has no money). Also my Macedonia friend (in which name the services are in) told me that Macedonia has no internet laws right now.

Also, as you see on our website.. we have a disclaimer stating the copyright act of 1976.. not sure 100% if that is possible to apply to this but that is what we are doing so I would say it is. And, He is in Singapore and the publisher for Netherlands is GameForge.. not his company TEC-Interactive.. so how can he intrude on Netherlands if he doesn't own marketing rights for the NL server published by GameForge?

I need some kind of legal information stating how I am allowed to run this private server, and/or anything I can use to "own" him on that liquiron forum. And finally give him a reason to stop singling us out and leave us alone.

  Since your server is hosted in the Netherlands, your server will be bound by Netherlands law. Most of the people on Yahoo Answers, including myself, are from the U.S. You might try reposting your question in a Dutch legal forum participated by attorneys familiar with Netherlands law.

QUESTION:
First Page Rankings all that matter?
I have a website that is for online classified ads, so I don't have any product to sell in a "traditional" sense. I currently have an SEO company helping me, and they are doing a very good job. However, I'm not on the first pages yet for any major keywords (I am on a few first pages for some very minor keywords). My website is probably similar to the top sites in my niche in terms of attractiveness and ease of use and we have taken alot of time to optimize it for best flow to help with conversions. I am basically generating no business at all, even though I've tried many different marketing tactics.

My question is...For a website like mine, that is purely internet driven, are first page rankings on my main keywords the only thing that will generate business? And...if I have an attractive, user friendly site and provide a service that people want (my main keyword is searched for 100k times a month), if I get first page rankings what is the likelyhood that I'll start generating some business?
my classifieds site is a little more specific...it is horse classifieds - still lots of competition, but more specific than just a broad classifieds site, if that changes anyone's opinion.

  I've read an article once, it said that the ranking wouldn't matter if there is no conversion. In your case, I guess you need to color up your site's content.Maybe some gimmicks would do. Just to influence viewers to visit your site. But I'm not saying you should ignore the page ranking of your site. The higher your page rank the better your rate of SERPs, this means the greater the possibility for customers to see your products.
